RECYCLING

In keeping with a philosophy of preserving and protecting the resources of the Northwest, The Seattle Times Company practices and promotes recycling. Currently, more than 60 percent of The Seattle Times newsprint contains recycled fibers. All newspaper waste is reused: ink, office paper, printing plates, silver film and even oil from presses and delivery trucks are recycled. These efforts have been recognized with environmental awards from The Washington State Department of Ecology, King County and the Weyerhaeuser Company.
