Summer Internships in Seattle
The Seattle Times offers paid summer internships to outstanding students pursuing a career in journalism. For 12 weeks, interns work on varied assignments. They attend weekly training sessions given by members of a Pulitzer-Prize winning staff. Interns receive a skill-development plan and a staff mentor to support them in achieving it.
Qualifications:
Internships are open to sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students attending a four-year college or university. Applicants must be journalism majors or have a demonstrated commitment to print journalism. At least one previous internship on a daily news organization is preferred, and multimedia experience is a plus.
How to apply:
Application Deadline
November 1, annually, for the following summer
Application Format
All applications must be received by e-mail to newsinternships@seattletimes.com. Resumes and cover letters should be attached as Word documents. Please screen your own work to provide the requested number of samples; we are not able to review all the content on an applicant's Web site.
