A letter to advertisers

To our valued advertisers,

Hearst Corporation made the decision to close the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and its final day of publication was Tuesday, March 17. Newspapers play a unique and important role in our communities, and we all lament the loss of the Seattle P-I’s voice.

With so many changes and uncertainties today, we want to assure you that The Seattle Times Company remains your committed advertising partner. We’ll continue to deliver your advertising, uninterrupted, to the largest audience in the market through our print and online network. The size and strength of our audience remains nearly unchanged: All Seattle P-I subscribers will now receive The Seattle Times, and there will be almost no change for Sunday P-I subscribers who already receive our flagship Sunday newspaper. Plus, our powerful online sites will continue to make up the area’s largest online local media network.

Advertising rates also remain unchanged for the most part. The current Sunday and weekday rates still apply, as do the existing preprint rates. (Some advertisers who were running in just one newspaper may experience a rate change.)

We want to extend our thanks and appreciation to our advertisers by providing a special economic stimulus program that offers an additional 10% value for full run print display advertising expenditures over the coming transitional weeks. Your Seattle Times Company account executive will be in touch with further details.

Our mission is to serve as your trusted partners, working with you to craft advertising programs that help your business succeed. Feel free to call us with any questions, or contact the Advertising Department directly at 206/464-2400 or advertising@seattletimes.com.
