Walla Walla Union-Bulletin

2004

  • Washington Newspaper Publishers Association
    The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin was recently honored with first place for General Excellence in the 2004 Better Newspaper Contest. In addition, the Union-Bulletin received seven awards in the news and special sections categories. The contest recognizes "excellence in newspapers."

2002

  • Society of Professional Journalists, Pacific Northwest Chapter
    Eight awards at the Pacific Northwest Excellence in Journalism Competition in the under-25,000 circulation category. This contest covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
  • Society of Professional Journalists, Inland Northwest
    Five awards at the Excellence in Journalism Competition. This contest is for newspapers of all sizes in Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
  • Washington Newspaper Publishers Association
    The news department received 8 awards; the advertising department received 3 awards and the photography department received 5 awards.
  • Washington Correctional Association
    Reporter Terry McConn was selected to receive the 2002 News Media Award, recognizing members of the media who have contributed to "enhancing the public's awareness of corrections issues and goals."
