PREPRINTS AND TARGETING

We offer a wide variety of insert and other targeted options that can help you reach your best customers. You can count on credible, reliable delivery of your inserts inside The Seattle Times and to nonsubscribers via the U.S. mail. Programs range from delivery of preprints you supply, to one-stop design, print and deliver programs that can save you time and money. Choose from high impact, total market coverage with saturation by selected ZIP codes. You can even target specific households with direct mail. Whether your business is large or small, let us help you develop a targeted advertising program designed just for you.

Below you’ll find a quick summary of our preprint and targeted programs. Complete rates, deadlines, and specs.

Newspaper Preprints
Newspaper delivery of your preprints is an effective, reliable option that benefits from the strong brand and credibility of The Seattle Times newspaper. Subscriber home delivery by ZIP code is available seven days a week in King and Snohomish counties. Sunday preprint advertisers also can add ZIP codes in north Pierce County. Single copy (newsstand) delivery is available by zone on Sundays or by full distribution on weekdays. Complete rates, deadlines, and specs.

Nonsubscriber Preprints
Increase the impact of your preprint delivery by adding nonsubscribers to your newspaper preprint program to achieve total market coverage (TMC). Nonsubscriber preprints are delivered to over 500,000 homes and apartments in King and south Snohomish counties. They arrive in the mailbox on Wednesdays* inside Savings Source, a colorful, all-advertising wrap. Choose full market-wide TMC distribution, or select saturation delivery by ZIP code to target specific geographies. Complete rates, deadlines, and specs.

Savings Source Wrap Display Ads
Savings source, an all-advertising wrap, delivers your message to homes and apartments in King and Snohomish counties on Wednesdays* inside The Seattle Times and to nonsubscribers. Your full-page, full-color ad on the front or back cover of the wrap reaches more than 237,200 subscriber households, plus over 500,000 nonsubscriber households. Space is limited, so call your account executive or 206/464-2400 for availabilities. Complete rates, deadlines, and specs.

Single Sheet Print and Deliver
Our single sheet print and deliver programs are effective and affordable. Single sheets are an ideal format for offering great values and coupons, as they're easy for consumers to hang onto. We offer two single sheet programs:

  • ZIP X-PRESS WEEKLY single sheets are especially fast and easy. They provide saturation deliver by ZIP code to subscribers and non-subscribers on Wednesdays* inside the colorful Savings Source insert wrap. Choose from two sizes and print formats, and let us handle the rest, including design, printing, and delivery.

Complete rates, deadlines, and specs.

Commercial Printing and Direct Mail
We offer a full line of commercial printing and direct mail services, including consulting, professional copywriting and graphic design, printing, and direct mail. You can utilize any of the distribution programs described above, or we can mail to your customer list or other targeted demographics or geographies. And well simplify your program by handling it every step of the way. Plus, when you let us handle your printing and direct mail needs, your printing costs and mailing (except postage) apply towards your newspaper revenue contract, which can lower the cost of your ROP advertising. For more details, contact your Seattle Times account executive or Greg Bodhaine, Direct Marketing Manager, at 206/652-6813 or by e-mail at targetmarketing@seattletimes.com.

Doorstep Impact Programs
For special promotions, consider high visibility options such as polybags or elastic bag tags. Polybags are the plastic bags covering the newspaper, providing great billboard-style advertising. These white bags can be printed with your message in a variety of colors, and you can even include promotional samples. Elastic band tags feature a banded card that is wrapped around the newspaper. For more details, contact your Seattle Times account executive or Greg Bodhaine, Direct Marketing Manager, at 206/652-6813 or by e-mail at targetmarketing@seattletimes.com.

Other Targeted Options
The Seattle Times Company provides a number of other targeted options, including print and online special sections and regular special interest newspaper and online content. For further information on how you can target your audience by interests, geography, and demographics, contact your account executive or call 206/464-2400.
