A GUIDE TO SUBMITTING DIGITAL ADS

Newsprint reproduction

For readability in the newspaper, font size should be no smaller than 7pt; reverse type should be minimum 10pt. (sans serif).

Page-Ready Black-and-White Ads

  • Outline: 100-line screen, 200 dpi minimum resolution
  • Highlight Dot: 5%; Midtone Dot: 35%; Shadow Dot: 85%
  • Dot-gain Compensation: 30%

Page-Ready 4-Color Ads

  • Separations: CMYK
  • Output: 100-line screen; 300 dpi minimum resolution
  • Color-Dot Aimpoints:
       Highligh Dot: C-5 M-2 Y-2 K-0
       Midtone Dot: C-36 M-28 Y-28 K-10
       Shadow Dot: C-60 M-50 Y-50 K-80
  • Dot-gain Compensation: 30%
  • Total Ink Coverage: Not to exceed 220%
  • Trapping: .25 point or higher
